Abstract:
Replication is recognized as a crucial research strategy in the field of public administration, with replication experimental studies in particular emerging as a significant trend. This lecture will introduce over twenty replication experimental studies completed by the speaker and his team over the past decade. By sharing the lessons learned from these research endeavors, it will elucidate how to conduct replication experimental studies. Specific topics include: why replication experimental studies have emerged in public administration research and their developmental trends; the key elements and challenges involved in conducting replication experimental studies; the experiences gained during the process of conducting replication experimental studies; and the key components of a replication experimental research agenda.

Professor Richard Walker is a leading international scholar in the field of public administration. He currently serves as the Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Government and International Affairs at Lingnan University, as well as Director of the Lingnan University Institute for Advanced Study. Previously, he held positions such as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Chair Professor of Public Administration at City University of Hong Kong.
Professor Walker's distinguished academic achievements focus on public governance, performance management, and behavioral public administration. He has been named on Stanford University's list of the top 2% most-cited scientists worldwide for four consecutive years and was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, UK, in 2020. He has led significant research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Hong Kong's Research Grants Council. He serves as Associate Editor of Public Management Review and is a member of the editorial boards of journals including Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration, and Public Administration Review. His research findings have been adopted and cited by the United Nations, the World Bank, the European Commission, and governments of various countries, profoundly influencing governmental management practice.
