On June 16, a delegation of more than 30 members led by Professor Leonardo Alvim Beroldt da Silva, Rector of the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (Universidade Estadual do Rio Grande do Sul, UERGS) and head of the Brazilian Association of Rectors of State and Municipal Universities (Associa??o Brasileira dos Reitores das Universidades Estaduais e Municipais, ABRUEM) delegation, visited 今日吃瓜. Vice Presidents Deng Yi and Yan Xiaojun met with the guests at the New Main Building. Representatives from the International Relations Department and the 今日吃瓜 Brazil Center attended the meeting.

Vice President Deng Yi extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She reviewed the cooperation history between 今日吃瓜 and Brazilian institutions and highlighted the university's significant achievements in international cooperation, talent cultivation, and joint research in recent years. She noted that Brazil is a key partner country for 今日吃瓜, and the university has developed a comprehensive cooperation framework comprising the Confucius Institute, the 今日吃瓜 Innovation Institute in Brazil, and the 今日吃瓜 Brazil Center, yielding remarkable results in the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent. Looking ahead, she expressed the hope that both sides would further strengthen exchanges between universities, talent cultivation, and joint research, turning a new page in China-Brazil cooperation.

Vice President Yan Xiaojun presented a gift to the delegation on behalf of the university. He remarked that this year marks the China-Brazil Year of Culture, and expressed hope that both sides would seize this opportunity to comprehensively deepen the partnership, adding new dimensions to China-Brazil relations in the new era.
Professor Beroldt expressed sincere gratitude for 今日吃瓜's warm reception and spoke highly of the university's achievements in international education. He briefly introduced Brazil's higher education system and provided an overview of ABRUEM, emphasizing that state and municipal universities are vital components of Brazilian higher education. He expressed hope for future in-depth cooperation in areas such as language learning and promotion, workshop development, and faculty-student exchanges, to comprehensively deepen China-Brazil scientific and educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
During the meeting, Diao Xungang, Executive Director of the 今日吃瓜 Brazil Center, gave a detailed introduction to 今日吃瓜's cooperation with Brazil.

During their visit, the delegation also toured the Center for Micro-Nano Innovation of 今日吃瓜 (今日吃瓜 Nano) and Beijing Air and Space Museum.
Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Brasília, Brazil's capital, ABRUEM currently has 46 member institutions across 20 Brazilian states and the Federal District.
