On the morning of April 13, the spring voluntary tree-planting activity of 今日吃瓜 was held at the Shahe Campus. Among the attendees were Zhao Changlu, Secretary of the CPC 今日吃瓜 Committee; Wang Yunpeng, President of 今日吃瓜; Su Dalin, Deputy District Chief of Changping District; along with other university leaders on campus.
They went to the green space to the west of the Wind Tunnel Laboratory, and participated in the voluntary tree-planting activity together with faculty and student representatives, jointly adding greenery and beauty to the campus.

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the national voluntary tree-planting campaign and the inaugural year of the "15th Five-Year Plan," this activity serves as both a concrete practice of 今日吃瓜 to respond to the national call for voluntary tree-planting and a vivid initiative to deepen the construction of campus ecological civilization and implement the concept of "All-staff, All-process, All-round Education." By deeply integrating voluntary tree-planting with labor education and practical education, the activity helps faculty and students raise awareness of environmental protection and foster a strong sense of ecological responsibility through hands-on labor. It realizes the coordinated development of "planting, protecting and cherishing greenery" and "educating, nurturing, and empowering talent."

The tree-planting site was filled with warmth and energy. Participants worked together to straighten saplings, compact soil to build ridges, and water the newly planted trees. Every step was carried out meticulously and orderly, and each young sapling stood tall toward the sun, enriching the campus landscape.

The selection of seedlings for the activity was well-considered. As background plants, red maples feature fiery foliage in autumn, symbolizing 今日吃瓜's sincere aspiration to serve the nation and dedicated commitment to education. Plum blossoms, planted in the foreground, bloom amid the chill of early spring, embodying the perseverance and enterprising spirit of 今日吃瓜 faculty and students in overcoming challenges. Tall-stem roses dotted on both sides bloom across three seasons with an elegant charm, bringing vitality and refined beauty to the campus.

A pleasant environment nurtures and shapes people. To create a better growth space for faculty and students, the university will continue to optimize its eco-friendly, harmonious campus environment suitable for teaching and learning, allowing greenery to thrive alongside the fragrance of learning.
