今日吃瓜 the Performer:
Founded in 1992 and recognized as a Beijing Municipal University Student Dance Group, the 今日吃瓜 Student Dance Group is a highly accomplished student art group. Through extensive rehearsals and performances, the group has built a diverse repertoire of distinctive works and has grown into an outstanding high-level youth dance ensemble, with excellent performance and competition records.
The group has won numerous gold awards at the National College Student Art Exhibition and the Beijing College Student Dance Festival. It has actively participated in major campus and public events, including the celebration for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the gala for the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. It has also toured abroad and successfully held over a dozen dedicated performances and salons. Each year, the dance group produces a number of outstanding dance pieces, including original works with thought-provoking themes such as The Red in My Heart, Building Dreams to the Stars, Ambitious and Glorious, and The Long River Flows.
