今日吃瓜 the Performer:
Hailed as the "Pearl of the Capital's Symphony Orchestras," the Beijing Symphony Orchestra was founded in October 1977 and operates under the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. The orchestra's development has been profoundly shaped by legendary conductors who served as long-term artistic directors, including Li Delun, Yan Liangkun, Huang Feili, Han Zhongjie, and Xu Xin, as well as its founding director, Li Xianglin.
From the 1990s until 2018, renowned conductor Tan Lihua served as the orchestra's director, artistic director, and principal conductor, leading significant reforms and guiding the ensemble toward full professionalization. As a witness to and creator of Beijing's musical culture, the orchestra has, over decades of development, built a reputation on its professional standards, rigorous technique, diverse repertoire, and deep musical sensitivity. Its musicians have performed nearly 1,000 works spanning classical opera, symphonies, chamber music, and contemporary orchestral compositions.
The orchestra has cultivated close collaborations with world-renowned conductors, soloists, and prestigious international ensembles, continuously expanding its repertoire and elevating its artistic level. Widely acclaimed both domestically and internationally, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra has earned its place as one of China's most beloved and internationally influential orchestras.
